Hello,
These photographs were taken of June of 2019 at the the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival. It has been going on for five years now at Franklin Square in our China Town area. Each lantern is custom design for this festival every year, therefore you never see the same lantern twice. Even if you go to another festival in a different city you will get brand new lanterns.
I cannot believe I forgot to post them here. I’ve been so busy with my life making art that I am forgetting to show the art itself online.
These were all shot with my 50mm lens. Which was a challenged for me because it wasn’t the best lens to shoot with. It was great for close-up but not for wide angles. I only wanted to use one lens while I was there because I did not want to take too much time going back and forth between several lenses. But it is good to limit yourself sometimes and use the wrong lens for the movement that you are in.
Please enjoy! Will try to have more soon, but with the wedding being so close I cannot guarantee.

Love all the photos, the Festival was wonderful but when I went it was crowded so I’m looking forward to going next year on a day when it’s not so crowded
